MARY ANN'S CHEESE SPREAD
Like a cheese ball, or the "Pub Cheese" you buy in crocks, only much better!
This is the only recipe on the Fishing For a Healthy Web Site that is not low fat and healthy (even though it uses lower fat ingredients), but it's
wonderful, and you don't have to make it very often!

1 lb. low fat Velveeta cheese 1/2 lb. butter 4 oz. low fat cream cheese 4 oz. no fat sour cream
4 - 5 oz. horseradish
Melt cheese and butter in top of double boiler, stirring to blend.
Remove from heat, then add cream cheese and blend well. Add sour cream and blend well. Add horseradish.
Taste as you add the horseradish to make sure you don't get too much, as the strength varies a lot from brand to brand and according to freshness.
You want this spread to have some "zip", but not to knock you out!
Chill for at least 4 hours. Keeps several days. Serve with crackers. This makes A LOT!
If you need more than one appetizer, try DEANNA'S DIP SALSA,
LEMON MUSHROOMS,
and my SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP for low fat and delicious
choices to balance to this higher fat recipe.
