WHOSE JOB IS TO CHECK
THE SUN IN THE SKY

WHILE OTHER CRITTERS ARE STILL ASLEEP

TUCKED IN THEIR DENS,
OR UNDERGROUND DEEP……

THE GROUNDHOG MUST RISE UP --
HIS SHADOW TO SEE......(or not)...


IN THE HARSH GLARE OF PUBLICITY !
Just so we'll know what kind of spring Mother Nature will probably bring.

	And does he get paid for his annual job?
NAY -- not a cent -- not a farthing comes from the mob which hovers over this poor little fellow hoping the sun will NOT be big, bright, and yellow
